Stephanie Steyer received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from
the California College of Arts and Crafts. After graduation, Stephanie worked as a graphic designer for Michael Vanderbyl, Jonson Pedersen Hinrichs & Shakery (now Pentagram SF), The Office of Michael Manwaring, and co-founded the San Francisco-based design firm Patrick Coyne / Stephanie Steyer Design Office.
Stephanie then worked as an associate editor and designer of Communication Arts magazine for over fourteen years assisting with determining editorial content, interviewing profilees, writing articles, the design and layout of the magazine, and cover design. She created and implemented the first CA website, which launched in September of 1995. Stephanie administered the Richard & Jean Coyne Family Foundation from 1995-1999, helping to match foundation grants with programs that promote art and design, and support art education in communities across the country.
Since 1999, Stephanie has worked with independent clients in her own freelance business, while raising her two children. She worked for Crystal Clarity Publishers, Inc. in Nevada City, CA from 2001-2007, designing books, covers, cds, branding, promotional materials, and websites. She taught basic design and photography for four years at the high school level. She currently resides in Northern California.
Stephanie is very passionate about design, as well as communicating skillfully and clearly the business needs of her clients. With a relentless eye for detail and aesthetics, and the ability to quickly grasp and distill complex matters, Stephanie takes pride in producing excellent, successful design results.
Stephanie has been a professional member of the AIGA since 1985.
